In September, our chapters will vote on approving the acquisition of PLT by PDK. The protocol will be one chapter, one vote, not one member, one vote. Therefore, it is particularly important that chapter leaders be informed and active in the discussions.

The Family of Education Associations
Timeline. The timeline for learning about the proposed acquisition, discussing it, and voting on it extends through the late-September voting deadline.
Long History, New Strategy. This document traces the history of PDK and PLT and explains the benefits of the acquisition.
PLT’s Economic Considerations. This document explains the economic factors that caused PLT’s board to pursue acquisition by PDK.
What PDK was told about PLT. This document contains links to documents provided to PDK for purposes of “due diligence,” i.e., showing PDK all the important elements of the association it would be acquiring.
Letter of Intent. This letter was adopted by both the PLT and PDK boards of directors. It documents the decision to pursue the acquisition. This document will be replaced by the formal acquisition agreement when it is completed in early August.
